Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services Names David Sharfman, MS as COO

 (Miami Bridge) has named David A. Sharfman, MS as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He was previously Senior Chief Business Officer.

“David has a remarkable track record of leadership and collaboration as evidenced by the agency’s strategic growth over the last nine years,” said Steve Lezman, Miami Bridge’s board president. “We look forward to his continued work to enhance care on behalf of the youth and families who are assisted by our community advocacy services.”

Since joining Miami Bridge, Sharfman’s strategic and tactical oversight of both shelter campuses has been instrumental in its being awarded capital grants in working with the City of Homestead, the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County. He has also helped the nonprofit improve the quality of services at both residential living spaces as well as increase community-based work. In addition, Sharfman is responsible for assessing and implementing new technology platforms to create business process efficiency.

Before joining Miami Bridge, he served as director of operations and project management at Foster Care Review Inc. where he was responsible for community outreach and special events. His prior business experience includes advising Fortune 100 clients, such as FedEx, AT&T, Sony Consumer Electronics and Royal Caribbean Group, as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on growth strategies.

Sharfman holds a Master of Science degree in communications, with a focused study in conflict negotiation and mediation, from Clark University in Massachusetts. He earned his bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of New Hampshire.

He is a volunteer with the nonprofit Dachshund Rescue South Florida and he resides in Miami.
